सूरत लोकसभा सीट पर बीजेपी के उम्मीदवार मुकेश दलाल की निर्विरोध जीत विवादों में है, कांग्रेस के उम्मीदवार निलेश कुम्भानी का नामांकन रद्द होने के बाद बाकी बचे 8 उम्मीदवारों के अपनी उम्मीदवारी वापिस लेने के बाद मुकेश दलाल निर्विरोध चुन लिए गए थे, अब इस मामले में कांग्रेस ने चुनाव आयोग में शिकायत की है, कांग्रेस का आरोप है कि अनुचित प्रभाव के जरिए मुकेश दलाल को विजेता घोषित किया गया, कांग्रेस की मांग है कि इस सीट पर नए सिरे से चुनाव कराए जाएं, पार्टी ने दावा किया है कि दरअसल बीजेपी कारोबारी समुदाय से डर गई थी, जिस वजह से उसने सूरत लोकसभा सीट पर मैच फिक्सिंग की कोशिश की, हालांकि इस पूरे मामले पर कांग्रेस उम्मीदवार निलेश कुम्भानी की भूमिका पर भी सवाल उठ रहे हैं, गुजरात कांग्रेस के नेताओं का कहना है कि मामले पर पार्टी नजर बनाए हुए है, अगर ऐसा कुछ भी मिला तो कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
